They took turns writing names in somber ink. The samples on paper passed hand to hand. Each child analyzed letter strokes for differences but found connections.

I remember as a kid that autograph books were a huge trend. We would take them to school and get our friends and teachers to sign them. I guess they were sort of like being Friended/Followed on Facebook or Twitter.

I love all of your posts, especially shorter ones like this. You have a real talent for satisfying a reader in simple ways because you say so much with the fewest words. Clearly, by this comment, I don’t have that skill 😉

Thank you! I’m working on satisfying the reader with longer works; I do think these shorts help keep me mindful.
